Recently I have been deploying Office 365 for some customers, so we have been buying office 365 from Indirect Partners (Distributors) and deploying it for our customers. During this process I learned that for the tenant, Global Admin is the highest level of security access.. The global admin user can do anything , he can assign permissions to others he can access all the services on anyone's behalf... The most unsecured part of this Global Admin right is when you need to buy the subscriptions from the partners , they don't provide you the subscription. And you need to Provide the partner A Delegated Global Admin Rights, Now when you buy from more partners more partners become your global admin. They get access to everything of any user . So now one partner can easily know what other partners are Quoting. Partners don't Provide you the subscription ID for the main reason that they add them selves are Digital Partner of Record for the subscriptions you just purchased from them. So even when they are not actually deploying and supporting you for the purchased subscriptions they still get the Rebate for supporting you. They already had their rebate for selling from Microsoft.
Just because of this way of managing the sales by Microsoft , the customer becomes completely unsecured lots of partner are now the global admin for this tenant. Now if the customer needs to secure himself the only option is to create the tenant and then purchase the subscriptions online. In this case there is a huge price difference.. the online price for Business Premium is INR 7900/- Per user Per Year, where as when they buy from the partner the Price is INR 5900/-.
I Really don't agree this sales methodology of Microsoft. Largest IT Service Company making most of its customers unsecured.
